WHAT WE DO
MAKING WAVES
We are on a mission to engage a wave of young people to help those experiencing homelessness in our communities. We offer high school students opportunities to not only become aware of the homeless population but to also participate in meeting their needs through the programs we offer. We hope what we’re doing does bring change not only by giving food and clothing to those in need but by treating others with dignity and respect.
We feel the need to get the word out and let people know that we have a homeless crisis not just in our country, but in our own backyard. As more people get involved, the greater difference we can all make. Here are some of the things we do.
HOSTING DONATION DRIVES
We host Donation Drives two to three times a year at each of our participating schools. In the warm months, we collect lightly used caps, and socks. In winter, we ask for winter gloves, coats, hats, and scarves. In the past few years, the contributions we’ve received have been absolutely incredible!
After our donation drives, we separate everything, so each member of our team has socks, caps, coats, gloves, and scarves to give out with the LifePaks.
We’ve completed sixteen donation drives in the past few years at local area schools.
ZipLoc Bag with a Nutrition Bar, Water Bottle, Beef Jerkey, and a $5 Meal Gift Card.
Total cost of one LifePak is $10
Currrently, we’ve built and distributed 1,200 LifePaks.
We build LifePaks throughout the year on our own, at our schools, and with partnering organizations.
Here’s what goes into a LifePak
We partner with multiple organizations in order to be effective in reaching those in need. Recently, Preston Hollow United Methodist Church agreed to be our 501c3 sponsoring organization. This is huge for us, for now we can fundraise and have a greater impact. With their help, we finally finished our website and are getting the word out on social media. We’re excited to be working together!

During the pandemic, we began collaborating with Cooking for the Crowd, preparing hot meals. Passing Hats’ and Hands 'N Motion are two amazing organizations that create and donate knitted warm wonders for us to distribute.
In the colder months Jesuit’s Ranger Trap & Skeet Team contributes winter hats, gloves, scarves, and coats.
The costliest elements in the LifePak bag are the nutrition bars and the $5 meal gift cards. LifePak is currently looking for partners that will donate power bars for our LifePaks. We hope to raise enough funds to buy more meal gift cards for our LifePak builds.
PREPARING AND DISTRIBUTING HOT MEALS
During the pandemic, we didn’t feel we were doing enough, so we began preparing and distributing hot meals. In the fall of 2020, we partnered with Cooking for the Crowd, a local non-profit that makes and serves meals for those marginalized in our community.
Our lunch packs include an entrée, orange, dessert bar, and a bottle of water. We make an effort for meals to be nutritional.
Once a month we make and give out 60 Hot Meals to those in need.
We’ve made and passed out 720 Meals.
GIVING TO THOSE IN NEED
We hand out LifePaks.
We keep them in our family cars, so they’re handy when encountering someone in need.
We distribute clothing.
After each of our Clothing Drives at the schools, there’s an abundance of items to go around. We're able to bring warmth to someone freezing in the cold winter air or relief from the hot Texas sun.
We deliver Meals.
Throughout the year we deliver meals. It might be a tasty lunch or a yummy breakfast burrito.
There’s always an orange and a water bottle.
BRINGING SCHOOLS ON BOARD
To date, LifePak has signed up six schools for donation drives and LifePak builds. Each has a sponsoring organization within the school that hosts the drives, such as the National Honors Society, Interact Club, and StuCo. One school even created a LifePak Club. If you’d like to see the schools we partnered with, click on “Our Partners” tab.
