LifePak is all about teamwork and helping others. Applying these ideas to our strategy, we’ve been able to establish strong relationships with local area schools and organizations wanting to help make a difference in their communities.
In 2019, the LifePak Founders began meeting with principals of both public and private schools presenting their ideas. Their first presentation was to Melanie Schulte, the then principal of Frankford Middle School, where they all met. She liked the idea of students learning to give back and help those in need. From there, other schools followed. The response was highly positive.
The other facet of LifePak that resonated with the various heads of schools was the leadership component. LifePak gives students opportunities to participate and actively serve those in need. As students gather, conduct donation drives, build LifePaks, and distribute them; they’re becoming more aware of those experiencing homelessness and they’re growing and learning how to treat others with dignity and respect.
Bringing Schools On Board. To date, LifePak has signed up six schools for donation drives and LifePak builds. Each has a sponsoring organization within the school that hosts the drives, such as the National Honors Society, Interact Club, and StuCo. One school even created a LifePak Club.
In some schools, the faculty and administrators have gotten involved too. For their in-service days, they build LifePaks and distribute them in areas where they live.
To make it easy, LifePak provides a toolkit of supplies for all its partnering schools that includes posters, back-pack flyers, morning announcements, banner ads for the school’s internal digital media, and donation boxes for collecting clothing.
As the harsh realities of the pandemic sank in, a couple of organizations reached out to LifePak to partner with them. These organizations played a critical role in keeping LifePak alive and active in the communities they serve, while much had completely shut down around them.
